    Version 2 Beta - Maintenance Release

    A maintenance release for the latest Version 2 beta is now available.  The latest release can be downloaded for evaluation from www.sqldbcontrol.com/beta.aspx.

     Feature Additions:

    1. Modified all text columns to ntext columns in order to support Unicode character sets.

    2. Provided option to save email information on exception form.

    3. Added the functionality to export scripted packages to disk as well as selected scripts/objects.

    4. Added functionality to allow all database objects to be scripted from source control.

    Code Changes:

     

    1. Added “Results to Text” and “Results to Grid” buttons to supplement the existing menu items.
    2. Modified the database drop-down list to expand to the width of the longest database name.
    3. Added the functionality to allow the database name (in SQLDBcontrol) to be renamed to reflect a database rename on the SQL Server, retaining all object histories.
    4. Added a “Rename Object” context menu option within Query Editors to supplement the existing functionality in the display summary view.
    5. Extended the “Save to File” dialog to support different encodings.

    Bug Fixes: 

    1. Fixed a bug where an exception would occur when running a difference report against a database that contained views that made use of OPENQUERY.

    2. Fixed a bug where an exception would occur during project start-up if a script that had never been connected to a database was left open prior to closing the application.

    3. Fixed a bug where, under certain conditions, an exception would occur when loading a new project.

    4. Fixed a bug where an exception would occur on project start-up if an object editor was being opened for an object whose database was offline or deleted.

    5. Fixed a bug where a database would disappear from the Project Explorer during a failed attempt to delete the database.

    6. Fixed a bug that would cause an exception to occur whenever a table change script was being generated under the following conditions:  Table A references Table B, which in turn references Table A.

    7. Fixed a bug where not all table references were being correctly scripted if a foreign key column’s data type was modified.

    8. Added improved exception handling during project startup.

    9. Fixed a bug where an exception would occur when display the summary list of views if any of the views referenced linked server tables where the database no longer exists.

    10. Fixed a bug where private scripts that had been added to a package would not display correctly.

    11. Fixed a bug introduced in previous build that resulted in an exception when trying to adding more than one procedure to an existing project.
