    Product Roadmap

We have had several requests to include certain functionality into SQLDBcontrol.  In order to keep everyone up to date with the major features we will be implmenting we are providing this product roadmap that outlines the features that will be introduced into SQLDBcontrol over the next few version updates.

If you don't see a feature mentioned that you would like to see please send a mail to support@sqldbcontrol.com or post a feature request in the feature requests forum.

As is natural, following a version update, some element of bug fixing and consolidation of new features might be necessary.  Also, new feature requests that are easy to implement might also fit into one of the version updates list below.  As such, the version numbers below might not actually represent the actual version numbers on which a given functionality appears.  In other words, treat the list below as a rough guide.

    Version 1.1
    • Focus on bug fixes and tweaks to the 1.0 release.

    Version 1.2

    • Adding functionality that allows you to see which objects reference a given object and the objects that a given object references.

    Version 1.3

    • Bug fixes and minor enhancements.

    Version 1.4
    • Redesign of Object Comparer, inclusion of Deployment and Search Packages

    Version 1.5

    • Improvements to comparison functionality together with minor enhancements and bug fixes.

    Version 1.6

    • Support for tables, including related objects (indexes, constraints, triggers).

    Version 1.7 - 1.9

    • Further enhancements to table support and overall functionality.

    Re: Product Roadmap

We have made the decision to include table support in Version 2.0 rather than Version 1.6.  This decision has been maded due to the large number of changes that have been required to implement table support, and in particular because of the decision to move to .NET 2.0.

As a result, Version 1.5 will be the last version 1 release that we will be making (not withstanding any essential bug fixes that need to be made).
