SQLDBControl
Release 1.4.50000
28 Mar 2007
Feature Additions:
-
Added functionality that enables T-SQL Scripts to be moved or copied between folders. Scripts from databases can also be moved or copied to folders, but scripts cannot be moved or copied to the database scripts folder.
-
Added Intellisense items for various commonly used T-SQL keywords and also included an Intellisense list of data types that appear when declaring a variable.
-
Added a dockable differences window that shows the differences between an object and the corresponding reference object.
-
Added support for different fonts within the editor and results pane (when viewing results in text mode).
-
Added functionality that enables objects to be renamed.
-
When attempting to edit a read-only object (i.e. one that is checked in) a prompt is shown asking whether the object should be checked out. The prompt can be optionally hidden so that in future instances the object is always checked out on an attempted edit.
-
Added functionality that allows for a new GUID to be generated and inserted into the current caret position of the active editor if that editor is open for editing. Ctrl-U has been assigned as the shortcut for this operation.
Code Changes:
-
When adding a new project or adding databases to an existing project, the Cancel button on the final screen of the Wizard is enabled. This allows the process to be cancelled.
-
The short-cut Ctrl-N has now been assigned to the creation of new objects, which object depends on the currently selected node in the Project Explorer. The New Project short-cut is now Shift-Ctrl-N.
-
Modified the appearance of the summary panel that appears above the object summary list. Also included a filter to allow certain objects to be excluded from the summary list.
-
When adding objects to a project progress is now handled by a status window similar in appearance to the deployment and delete status windows.
-
Made some code changes to handle the SQL Server error 4506, which is incorrectly assigned a severity level of 10 in SQL Server 2000.
-
Modified multi-line comments so that nested comments are possible.
Bug Fixes:
-
Fixed a bug where objects whose combined definition, owner and name exceeded a length of 8094 would cause an exception to occur when an auto-comparison ran.
-
Fixed a bug where an exception would occur when performing an Undo-Checkout operation.
-
Fixed a bug where checking in a T-SQL script from the query editor would not work.
-
Fixed a bug where typing “/*” on the first line of a query editor and pressing enter would cause an exception.
-
Fixed a bug where, when viewing differences, it was sometimes possible that an exception would occur.
-
Fixed a bug where deploying an object to a target database using the “Same permissions as destination” option would fail with “The object already exists” error.
-
Fixed a bug where a backslash in an object name or owner caused an exception when adding or editing such objects.
-
Fixed a bug where an exception would occur when typing a comma inside a system function that requires no parameters, for which an InfoTip was displayed (e.g. getdate())
-
Fixed a bug where, under some circumstances, when using SQL Authentication checking out an object would incorrectly assume Windows Authentication.
-
Fixed a bug where an exception would occur when attempting to deploy and it so happened that another user had recently added a new server to a project to which the current user had not supplied any login credentials yet.
-
Fixed a bug where right-clicking on a package object that was checked out by another user would cause an exception.
-
Fixed a bug where pressing EXEC, followed by space, when connected to SQL Server 2005 server would sometimes cause an exception.
